I say go with your gut and keep it the way you intended. It could be this whole new creative journey you’re on, you never know until you try it out (and like you said, adjust accordingly in the future). Just my two cents. We’ll love it regardless.

First of all, I can't wait to read the new book in whatever form it takes. Secondly, I will definitely be requesting the bonus content :) Thirdly, I think that if you feel that strongly about a scene, it should be included, especially since it did resonate well with some early readers - just not all of them. But I get that you're not 100% in control. I'm just glad that there will be a way for those of us interested to read Sam and Eleanor's full story, as you intended it to be told.

Being someone who’s read the book I feel it’s perfect the way it is. Not all love stories are sunshine and rainbows. I can see it resonating with readers who have gone through the same experience. The book has other not so light material so for me I would leave it. It shows their progression from fling to real life. Love ya! Heather

In response to your quick question above, I don't usually make decisions on the spot. I can if I have to but I usually end up wondering about it for days afterward. I'm one of those people who sees a shirt that he likes at the stores and thinks "Eh, maybe if I'm still thinking about it a week from now I'll go back and buy it." Haha. So that probably answers the question right there.

About the story: first of all, it's your story, and of course I support any decision you make about it! I trust your judgment and like you said, experimenting with new things can be really rewarding. Either way I'll be reading this book and I believe in you!!!

That said, I'm not sure how I would feel about it were I in your situation. I get why this could be a good idea from a marketing standpoint but might an influx of requests from readers for the epilogue be a bit overwhelming, unless your publisher is the one handling them? Also, if I felt as strongly about a scene in my writing as you clearly do about this one, I'm not sure I could go along with cutting or removing it. But that's just the self-publisher in me talking! I'm probably spoiled, haha. Like I said, I trust you and know you'll make the decision that's right for you. Thanks for sharing!

Wow, Skye, this sounds wonderful and fascinating! I don't feel qualified to answer, but I will just ask you this: might you consider an alternative conclusion for Sam and Eleanor in favour of expanding what is now their epilogue into a novel in its own right? I'm not sure I've ever read a book with an exclusive scene available to readers after the fact - but gosh, that sounds fascinating, too.

I'm really no help, am I? I'm sorry! 😊
