I've always felt that the jobs I hold don't define me: it's definitely important to me to not totally hate my job (and usually since they involve writing I at the very least don't mind them), but at the same time I really reject the notion that your job HAS to define who you are. Some people do enjoy that and there's nothing wrong with it certainly! But I've always been of the mind that my job is solely for income to do the things I ACTUALLY want to do, not because I truly love my day job with all my heart.
